Attorney Charles L. Matthew Slezak
Matthew Slezak focuses on a broad range of probate and civil litigation matters in Ventura County. He regularly represents clients in probate administration, probate litigation, conservatorships, and guardianships, guiding families and fiduciaries through complex estate and court-supervised proceedings. Matt also maintains an active civil litigation practice, handling business disputes, contract litigation, consumer protection matters, creditor’s rights issues, and mechanic’s lien claims.
Drawing on his extensive courtroom and litigation management experience, Matt provides strategic, practical representation aimed at resolving disputes efficiently while protecting his clients' legal and financial interests.
Matt attended Washington and Lee University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He then attended Rutgers University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor degree while an active member of both the intramural and competitive mock trial teams. Matt gained his early litigation experience interning with a Federal Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey and with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Matt is licensed to practice law in California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He began his career in litigation, initially representing criminal defendants in and around Orange County before transitioning to civil litigation in 2014. As a trial attorney, he gained extensive experience appearing in courts throughout Southern California. He later moved to a corporate role, where he oversaw a nationwide network of firms and served as an attorney-liaison for contested litigation matters involving several top-5 banking clients. He managed legal operations across more than 20 firms serving all 50 states.
Now back in active practice in California, Matt brings a wealth of experience to each case, offering attentive and strategic litigation services, He is dedicated to working closely with clients to understand their unique goals and provide effective, results-driven legal solutions.
